What is happening?Servers hosting central database services, web services and virtual private network (VPN) services for University of Alberta International (UAI) have become unresponsive. Who is affected?60 users at UAI and any external users attempting to access related web applications were affected. What is the impact?Users may have experienced inability to access central databases or related applications that are dependent on them. This includes the Study Abroad database, International Student database, Advisor Log, Top Track, https://forms.international.ualberta.ca and various applications hosted on https://internal.international.ualberta.ca. Users were also unable to use the VPN service. What is the current timeline of the incident?Start: 2013/02/13 04:20 – Monitoring systems discovered a problem with the central database services, web services and virtual private network (VPN) services for UAI.2013/02/13 05:40 – IT support analysts began working on the issue.End: 2013/02/13 07:30 – Service was restored.
