AICT, in partnership with the Office of the Vice-Provost (Information Technology), offers several University of Alberta editions of Microsoft Windows. These editions include commonly used apps such as Office 2010 Professional Plus, Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010, and Adobe Reader X. They also feature design elements from Marketing and Communications and can be configured with recommended power and security settings.

This undertaking is intended to ease the deployment of Windows by reducing the amount of time required as well as to create a baseline in licensing, user experience, power, and security settings. Our intent is to establish these editiona as the foundation that IT administrators will build upon during their deployment of Windows. U of A Microsoft Windows is distributed by software download, as well as optionally pre-installed on systems from preferred vendors.
