We’ve flipped the switch to make the switch! Print

It was the morning of October 3, 2011…

The regular clickity-clacking of keys on keyboards in the Bowling Alley of GSB was replaced by tumultuous booming and banging: Bob Beck had a hammer. Smash, crash, thunk—the kerfuffle soon created a crowd to witness the event as Antoine Verheijen sat in command of his computer with a gleam of anticipation in his eyes. Jonathan Schaeffer, Trevor Woods, and Keith McKinnon were among the many to witness the spectacle as the Google Team egged the action onward!

It was time. With all due haste, Central Mail was targeted, right on schedule and just as planned. By a swift tap of a button from Jonathan himself (accompanied by a showy strike of Bob's hammer), incoming mail was defeated. No new mail will reach Central Mail users unless they have messages forwarded to another location, and the system is now "Read-Only" in preparation for the Google takeover.

The battle is won, and the team has fought thoroughly and well to bring us Google Goodies. But they couldn't have done it alone. They would like to extend their thanks to all who have helped make this possible!

For any questions or concerns, feel free to email Julie Goodine, Project Management Coordinator, at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Happy Googling!
